What We Believe

As the founder of Gentle Thunder, I'd like you to know I'm not a pastor, a theologian, or a seminary student...Just a man who has received the Lord's amazing grace, am passionate about my walk with Jesus, and chose to share His truth and the gospel with my fellow man.

Our beliefs run parallel with most non-denominational Christian organizations and include the following:

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is fully God and fully man, born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He bodily rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of God, the Father, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that the true basis for Christian fellowship is God’s (Agape) love, which is greater than the differences we possess and without which we cannot claim to be Christians.

We believe the Bible, God’s Holy Word, is our foundation and standard for living; it is authoritative as the rule of faith.

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that human beings are born with a sinful nature.

We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

We believe worship of God is fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives and the fruit of His Spirit as evidence that we have truly been worshipping Him.
